Description

A Mango is an edible stone fruit produced by the tropical tree Mangifera Indica. One of the most popular and loved fruits of India. There are 1500 varieties of mangoes that are grown in India of which approximately 1000 are commercial varieties. Each Mango has a an unique taste and flavour. The popular varieties are sweet, with a distinctive rich, creamy, tender tasty flesh and a delicate juicy pulp with limited non fibrous fiber. Mangoes range from oblong to round to kidney shaped.

Mangoes are packed in semi-ripe or unripe conditions to withstand transport time. To help with ripening, unpack the box and arrange the mangoes on the floor with a stack of hay, rice straw, and grass/paper strands supplied with the box or aam peti in our local language.
